Le Marne Relais hosts Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc
A special guest at Le Marne: Formula 1 champion Charles Leclerc with whom we talked about his passions.
We were lucky enough to welcome a great Formula 1 champion here in Le Marne: Charles Leclerc. With him we talked about beauty, silence and an unexpected passion for ice cream!
"I am a fairly simple person. Humble. I like simple things in life. I live my whole life around motorsport, though. I wake up every morning thinking how I can become a better athlete, a better driver, and that's the thought I have throughout the day. Yes, my life is mostly about sports."
What do you like about Italy and what do you think we should improve?
"Italy I consider home. I grew up in Italy because of karting, all the tracks were in Italy, I learned Italian when I was young, and I spent most of my childhood in Italy. What I like about it? The simplicity, maybe, very few fake people, a lot of genuineness, transparency. That is what I love so much. I honestly can't think of things to change."
Yesterday you stayed overnight at Le Marne Relais, in the room "Beauty Exists" dedicated to Gianmaria Testa. What is your relationship with beauty and where do you look for it, both in your private life and in your work?
"I am quite an artist, I must say. I like architecture, I like art, I like music. A place like this is beauty. Having this view of the vineyards is something that also helps you disconnect and I realize I need that, especially after such a tiring season. This is a beautiful, relaxing place where you can think about something else."
